Indian Stones – What Indian Stone Exporters Offer:

Indian stones are praised everywhere and are exported to almost every nook and corner of the world. But, do you know what natural stone exporter in India have to offer? It is just granite or something more? Let’s explore!
As far as natural or dimension stones are concerned, India has vast reserves of almost every dimension stone that are being used in the construction and architectural purposes worldwide; both for exterior and interior designing. When it comes to quality of Indian natural stones, they are superb and for this reason, natural stones from India have been in great demand all over the world for quite a long time.
Moreover, the popularity of Indian natural stones like Indian granite, marble and sandstone have surged manifold in the last few years; possibly due to integration of advanced tools and technologies in the Indian stone quarrying, manufacturing and processing, development in shipping infrastructure and due to the fact that the Indian stone industry has now become more structured and organized with major focus on export of Indian natural stones.
Indian stone industry is majorly involved in the extraction, manufacturing/processing and export of six natural stones that are globally used for numerous purposes. These are granite, marble, sandstone, limestone, quartzite and slate. Let’s discuss these stones in terms of their properties and features that contribute to their worldwide popularity.
Indian Granite:
It is by far the most popular of all natural stones and luckily, India has its extremely large reserves, both in North and South India. For this reason, India is one of the top five granite exporters in the world; offering more nearly 150 different varieties of granite in various parts of the globe, including Europe, America, Middle East and Australasia.
Used for creating countertops, backsplashes, kitchen islands, floor tiles, steps, risers, feature walls and many more structures inside and outside properties, Indian granite is globally known for its strength, durability and quality. When it comes to color, India granite is simply versatile. Black, blue, brown, green, pink, red and yellow are to name a few Indian granite colors, in addition to amazing surface patterns like flecks, specks, swirls and patches that not just add to its beauty, but make this Indian natural stone unique in every aspect.
Most popular Indian granite varieties include Absolute Black, Black Galaxy, Jhansi Red, New Imperial Red, Onida Orange, Rosy Pink, Tiger Skin, Bianco Gold and Colonial Green, among others.
Indian Marble:
Occasionally touted as the “Royal Stone,” marble truly defines stateliness and regality. And, when it comes to India marble, you can expect more than just looks, i.e., durability and quality. Well, the quality of Indian marble can be estimated with the fact that the world-renowned Taj Mahal was built using the white marble that came from the Makrana region of Rajasthan.
With major marble quarries being concentrated in the Indian state of Rajasthan, this Indian stone is known for its eye-pleasing shades and mystic surface patterns in the forms of waves, swirls and strips. Brown, golden, green and pink are to name a few shades of this Indian stone, which is used for installations like countertops, tiles and featured walls inside homes. Statues and decorative pieces are also created with marble to adorn outdoor spaces like front yards, parks and gardens.
Fantasy Brown, Forest Green, Rain Forest Brown, Pink Onyx and Rain Forest Golden are some unique varieties of marble that are in huge demand all over the world.
Indian Sandstone:
This is another Indian stone that is quite popular among international buyers. This is unique in many terms and for this reason, it is used way more for outdoor applications rather than indoors.
Moreover, this Indian natural stone bears some unique qualities that make it apt for exterior installations. Apart from strength and resistance, its natural antiskid surface, ease of cutting and carving, and ability to beautify with age are just a few attributes of Indian sandstone that make it apt for developing pavements, walkways, garden furniture, wall cladding, driveways, statues, stone lamps, vases and so forth.
Indian Quartzite:
One Indian stone that can compete with granite in terms of strength is quartzite. Surprisingly, quartzite stands at a higher position on Mohs scale than granite. It has the charming looks of marble and possesses the strength of granite, which is a rare combination though that contributes to its global popularity.
Moreover, its unique blend of matchless beauty and strength makes it apt for multiple applications like, flooring, wall cladding, countertops and backsplashes, feature walls, stair cases.
Black, golden, green, grey, red, silver, white and yellow are Indian quartzite’s most preferred shades, while Copper, D. Green, H. Green, Silver Grey. S. White and H. Black are to name a few globally popular varieties of Indian quartzite.
Indian Limestone:
This Indian natural stone are found in almost every part of the country and that too in abundance. Not just this, limestone is quite a versatile Indian stone that is used for a range of architectural purposes, including cladding, paving, landscaping, roofing and lot more.
Yellow, pink, green, brown, blue and black are its prominent shades that subtly boost the natural appeal of this Indian stone. Some popular Indian limestone variants are Lime Pink, Lime Peacock, Lime Black and Kota Brown and Kota Blue.
Indian Slate:
This is one hidden gem out of all the things that Indian natural stone industry has to offer to the world. It is quite durable and strong as a natural material and can be used for umpteen interior as well as exterior applications. Roof shingle from slate is a unique installation, which has been in use for centuries.
Apart from black, green, grey, pink, red, white and yellow, Indian slate exists in multicolor form too. Vijaya Gold, Yellow Multi, Terra Red, SRA, Red Gold, M. Green and Multi Pink are quite popular in many parts of the world.

THE EXCLUSIVE COLLECTION OF ITLIAN MARBLE INDIAN MARBLE WITH BHANDARI MARBLE GROUP

CHECK OUT THE EXCLUSIVE COLLECTION OF ITLIAN MARBLE INDIAN MARBLE WITH BHANDARI MARBLE GROUP
Marble has a magical ability to make any room in your home feel like it has been coated with luxury, and for some home owners and designers, there is simply no substitute for majestic marble. There are many different kinds of marble you can use in your home, with white marble being a classic selection. All marble types have their own beautiful intricacies and various purposes depending on where and how they’ll be used in a space.
Marble is a calcium rich natural stone, meaning it continues to change over time with use, adding character to the piece. This can be most obvious with white marble, as imperfections are more visible. When taken care of, it can remain in tip-top shape, preserving its unique personality while still looking luxurious. For those looking to add white marble into their home, take a look at these 6 different types of marble and their best uses.
Carrara Marble
This popular white marble has a clean look with its subtle gray hues. You can spot Carrara marble by looking at the type of veining contrasted against the white/light gray background, as it’s typically thin, linear and feathery versus dark, sharp and bold. Some of the best uses for this white marble include countertops, backsplashes, fireplaces, shower walls, and tile flooring. See Marmol’s Bianco Carrara marble.
Calacatta Marble
This classic Italian marble comes from a quarry in Carrara, Italy, making it one of the more valuable and favored white marble stones. More dramatic-looking than Carrara, this marble takes on a warm white tone and contains a mixture of beige/gold and grey veins that vary in size. Calacatta marble is typically used for kitchen or bathroom countertops, fireplace surrounds, large tiled floors, wall slabs and backsplashes.
Statuario Marble
Statuario marble contains the subtle gray hues found in Carrara with similar gray veining that you’ll find in Calacatta slabs. This stone is a very bright white in color, also making it incredibly valuable. While Statuario is haled in Italy for being the perfect marble for carving statues, it is also a highly sought after material for residential and commercial projects. This white marble works beautifully as a large tile option, countertop slab or book matched backsplash or wall panel.
Thassos Marble
Thassos marble is crystal white in color and comes from the island Thassos in Greece. This marble is distinguished by its almost glowing, sparkling appearance. Popular even in ancient times, Thassos marble is excellent for reflecting light and brightening up a space. The simple color palette of this white marble makes it suitable for various home design styles, with the ability to contrast or complement an existing scheme. The polished white marble is best used for kitchen and bathroom countertops, as well as tiled floors.
White Himalaya
This other Greek marble, White Himalaya or Volakas, has similar characteristics to Carrara. The veins of White Himalaya marble can range from gray and brown to slightly purple-colored hues, all atop the solid white background. This marble definitely makes a statement and can be used for bathrooms floors and countertops, wall panels, tub surrounds and waterfall kitchen islands. White Himalaya and White Himalaya Spider stones.

ALL TYPES OF MARBLE BY BHANDARI MARBLE GROUP
Marble is a rock, which can be found in quarries all over the world. Different types of marble come from different areas and are classified based on composition, color, and finish. Marble comes in a variety of colors, so if you are looking for a way to decorate your kitchen, bathroom, floor, or walls in a luxurious way, marble is an excellent option to consider. Not only does marble come in many colors, but each type of marble has many hues, patterns, and a completely different look.
With so many options, you would be surprised that two houses or rooms can both be decorated in marble and have such opposing styles. Whether you’re going for a traditional look or a modern vibe, you can use marble to achieve exactly what you want. Let’s take a look at the many types of marble to choose from, how to identify each one, and ways to use these types of marble in your home.
ALL TYPES OF MARBLE BY BHANDARI MARBLE GROUP
Calacatta
Types of marble
Calacatta is a popular type of marble, which is quarried in the Carrara region of Italy. It is typically white with dark gray veining throughout. Calacatta is relatively rare, so it’s considered a luxury stone. It looks great when paired with stainless steel appliances or in bathrooms. The Calacatta Gold version of this stone has more of a rich color than the typical white Calacatta marble. It’s slighter warmer in tone, but not dark. The Calacatta Gold marble still has the deep gray veining throughout. Because Calacatta is one of the most popular types of marble, we’ve explained more in depth some of the other subtypes below:
Another important fact to note is that when people refer to Carrara, they are actually referring to Bianco Carrara, which is the white type of Carrara. Other types of marble which are quarried in Carrara, Italy can also be considered Carrara marble, however, they do not go by the Carrara name. Because this is one of the most popular types of marble alongside Calacatta, we’ve provided some of the most common subtypes of Bianco Carrara below.
Bianco Carrara Extra: This type of Carrara marble is a light off-white color and has light brown veining throughout.
Bianco Carrara Venato: This is a unique type of Carrara marble, because it is a bright white color and has strong veining that is dark-brown or black.
Dark Emperador
The Emperador marble is quarried in three different regions throughout Spain, and it can come in a variety of different hues, however, the most popular is the Dark Emperador. The Dark Emperador marble is a deep chocolate brown toned marble, which provides a homey feel to any house. Many people use this marble for floors or fireplaces. It usually has fine grains and irregular veining throughout. As you can see, marble varies tremendously from bright white to dark brown, so it can be used to decorate any home.
Milan Gray
Milan Gray is a type of marble that is quarried in Milan, Italy, and it is a deep gray color with lighter gray linear veining throughout. This is a great marble to use if you’re going for a modern or contemporary look in your home because it provides a more uniform and geometric design. It has a clean, matte finish and can be used in bathrooms, on floors, or in kitchens. Many people use it in showers or as a tile backsplash.

Crema Marfil
Crema Marfil is also quarried in Spain, and it comes in many different color variations. Many people know this type of marble for being a creamy yellowish color, with varying intensities of veining. This marble can be used in combination with other warm and natural accents in your home. It goes particularly well with wood. A lot of people choose to use Crema Marfil marble in exterior home renovations because it provides a great natural aesthetic.
Black Marble
Black marble is used in many modern homes because it is so sleek and chic. Black marble, with the most common type being Nero Marquina, is deep in color with white or gray irregular veining throughout. It looks great as a kitchen countertop or for your fireplace. It can also be paired perfectly with white marble accents. Remember, when choosing marble, you never have to stick with just one type. Many people choose a variety of different marble types to decorate their home.
Travertine
Travertine is a very popular type of marble, which comes in a variety of neutral and beige tones. This is a porous marble, so there is no veining shown in it. It provides a very consistent look throughout a home. Many people choose to use Travertine tile in their home or in their bathroom showers. It is known as a precious marble.
Blue Marble
Blue marble comes in a variety of deep blue, light blue, and gray hues with blue veining throughout. This marble is very soothing and works great in bathrooms, backsplashes, or water fixtures. It also looks subtle and clean when put into a tile pattern.
Arabescato
Arabescato marble is an off-white or white type of marble, which usually has dark brown or black veining. This marble is quarried in Carrara, Italy, which is one of the most popular areas for marble production. Only true marble connoisseurs will be able to see the differences between Arabescato, Carrara, and Calacatta marble types, because all of these can be very similar in appearance. Arabescato has many different subtypes to differentiate it further, such as Arabescato Arni, Arabescato Faniello, and Arabescato Mossa. These subtypes describe the coloring and veining of the marble.
Perlato
Perlato is a yellowish/beige marble with both veining and markings in it. It almost looks like it is tiled with small fragmented pieces inside. It is considered to be a busy marble because there are so many small details within each slab. Each piece is unique, which makes it a great choice if you want your home to be special.
Rosso marble
Rosso marble has a beautiful red/yellow tone to it. The veining throughout is creamy and irregular. It looks warm and can make any home feel cozy, yet chic. Rosso marble can also come in much darker shades of maroon and brown with white veining. This marble is quarried in Turkey and is oftentimes used to make fountains, floors, pools, and countertops.
Verde marble
Verde is a rich, green marble with white veining throughout. It can vary from dark green hues to olive green. Verde is also referred to as a Serpentine stone because its color is closely related to limestone. With such a beautiful color, you’ll find Verde marble in some of the most luxurious bathhouses and homes throughout Europe.

Kitchen with marble counter tops
The kitchen is one of the most popular places to use marble. Many people use marble for countertops or kitchen islands to create a clean, expensive, and chic look. Depending on what look you’re going for, white marbles such as Carrara or Calacatta can be a great choice for kitchen design. However, mixing white with black marble accents can also work well in kitchens. Your color tones and marble types will depend on what theme you’ve chosen, but thankfully, marble has so many options to choose from.
Bathroom with marble tops
In the bathroom, marble is used for countertops, floors, backsplashes, and showers. Using marble as opposed to basic tile can go a long way in improving your bathroom and making it look upscale for guests. Many people choose to use tiled marble in their showers or even add in a mosaic marble design for some flare. Carrara marble is a great option if you need to stick to a budget.
Floors
Marble floors will make any kitchen, bathroom, or entryway look magnificent. You can cover parts of it with beautiful rugs for a cozier feel, but the marble and its veining will stand out and really add a sense of luxury to your home. While most people go with wood floors, those who have the confidence to go with marble are one of a kind. A lot of people choose big diamond patterned tiles of marble for their floors, but small tiles may also be good for smaller spaces. It’s completely up to you.
Marble walls
Surprisingly, you can put marble tiles on your walls as well, not just in your shower or on a backsplash. Marble walls can look great with wood floors. You can even do one marble accent wall if you want to make a statement in a specific room. If you have a modern fireplace, consider making that entire wall marble. It will look glamorous and allow the rest of the room to be cozy.
Marble dining room table
You can make any furniture out of marble if you choose, but of course, you’ll want to stick to more decorative pieces or tables, chairs, nightstands, etc. Statues, stairs, and outdoor pieces are also good options—the possibilities are truly endless. Any piece of marble in your house will make a statement and show your guests that you value luxury, class, and quality.
ALL TYPES OF MARBLE BY BHANDARI MARBLE GROUP
Where to Buy Marble
Marble of all types can be bought and shipped from online suppliers or from local distributors. Most cities have a variety of marble suppliers to choose from, and if you’re renovating your home, your contractor may partner with specific suppliers which they can recommend to you.
If you’re looking for particularly precious stones, you may have to get the exact number of slabs needed to be shipped in directly from the area in which they are quarried. However, these areas are used to having to send out their marble all over the world. Marble is sold by the square foot and can vary tremendously in price depending on the particular type of stone you choose. Carrara is one of the most budget-friendly options for marble because it is the most widely available. More precious and expensive options include Calacatta and colorful stones like Verde, Blue Marble, and Nero Marquina.
How to Maintain Marble
Marble is a great choice for your home because it is a much more sustainable option than wood and other materials. Stone will last longer than any other material out there, and though it takes some maintenance, it is extremely sturdy and will hold up against any beating you give it. SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL NATURAL STONES, EXCLUSIVELY AT BHANDARI MARBLE GROUP.

WHY CHOOSE THE EXPERIENCED TEAM AT BHANDARI MARBLE GROUP?
Natural stone flooring offers you virtually endless types, styles and price points.
But all that variety and all those decisions can be quite intimidating to the unknown shopper.
With natural stone, knowledge really pays off. And knowledge today, before you buy, can be invaluable.
It can help you decide which type of natural stone best fits with your home and its activities, which size tile complements your room size and much more.

YOU WON’T SEE YOUR FLOOR AT THE NEIGHBORS.
The beauty of natural stone is that no two pieces are ever the same.
Each piece has its own natural characteristics such as color, veining and markings, as well as hardness and porosity. Your floor is truly unique and completely individual. Exclusive.
A natural stone tile floor begins with giant pieces of stone that are mined from the earth and transported to factories where they are cut into thin slabs.
Veining and crystallization may be abundant in one, yet non-existent in another.
Appearance may vary from tile to tile, but that only adds to the elegance, charm and magic of natural stone.

SEALING IS RECOMMENDED.
It is important to note that sealing of natural stone is highly recommended, and that it be performed by a seasoned professional.
Sealing your natural stone flooring makes it less porous, more stain resistant, and protects the stone’s original beauty.
There are different types of sealer depending on your type of stone. We recommend consulting with us about sealing your flooring.

WHAT ARE DIFFERENT TYPES OF STONE FINISHES?

Polished
Grinding, sanding, and buffing produces a high gloss, mirror-like surface. Polishing can be done only on crystallized stones. A polished finish doesn’t affect the porosity of the stone. A polished finish is quite popular as it enhances the color and markings of the material. A stone with a polished finish is very smooth and reflective. This type of finish is used in reception areas, where marble, granite and some harder limestones are laid. The most popular uses of polished stone are in; interior and exterior wall cladding, Interior and exterior paving, Fireplace facing and hearth, Lavatory tops, Residential & Commercial counter tops, Table Tops etc.

Honed
Grinding and sanding produces a smooth, yet not glossy finish. This is best for low maintenance, high traffic applications. Honed finishes unlike polished finishes are not reflective. The honed finish is a satin smooth surface with little light reflection. This finish is often used on walking surfaces and other areas where heavy traffic would wear off a polished finish. Honed finishes are used in interior wall covering. It can also used on the exterior in warm environments, table tops, very light duty residential flooring, etc.

Flamed
A flamed finish is one of the most popular finishes for external use where slip resistance is a concern. It is produced by applying a high-temperature flame to the surface of the stone which creates thermal shock and causes the inherent crystals to fracture, resulting in deeply textured surface ideal for external surfaces. This finish is mainly used on granites, and will hide surface imperfections and tone variations.

Sandblasted
This is a rough, but tidy look created by applying a high pressure blast of sand to the stone’s surface. A sandblasted finish creates a finely textured surface ideal for use in traffic-ways. Applying a high-pressure jet of water mixed with sand, this treatment softens the color and characteristics of the original stone.

Leather Finish
Available only in some varieties of marble & granite, this finish gives the stone a suede look and feel. This texture is smooth and slip-resistant.

Antiqued
This stone is tumbled with sand, pebbles etc to create a weathered, aged finish. An antique finish gives stone an aged appearance by replicating use and wear. Tumbling & at times acid wash is applied to surface of the stone which etches the surface of the stone. This generally dulls the color of the stone. The surface is then be brushed with mechanical wire bush to make the stone smooth and slightly restore the color.

7 Demolished Frank Lloyd Wright Buildings

7 Demolished Frank Lloyd Wright Buildings We Wish Were Still Standing
After a last-ditch preservation effort failed in January, a 1958-designed Frank Lloyd Wright building in Whitefish, Montana, became the most recent work by the architect to be demolished—though it was by no means the first. Of the hundreds, if not thousands, of building ideas conjured by Wright over the course of his life, 511 were actually built and only 432 remain standing today. Over the last century, 79 have been destroyed, some by human intent and others by accident. Here, we take a look at seven of the architect’s buildings that are no longer standing today.

1. Imperial Hotel, Tokyo
The iconic Japanese hotel has seen three iterations over its lifetime: a wooden structure designed in a Western style by Yuzuru Watanabe in 1880; Frank Lloyd Wright’s version, which lasted from the 1920s to the 1960s; and the current high-rise. Wright’s building famously survived the 1923 Great Kanto Earthquake, which decimated most of Tokyo. But after several decades, the aging hotel began sinking into the mud beneath it, and it was controversially demolished. The central lobby and reflecting pool were preserved and can be found at the Meiji-mura museum in Inuyama, Japan.

2. Larkin Company Administration Building, Buffalo, New York
Though Wright is perhaps more famous for his residential projects, he also worked on commercial sites. He created the main office building for the Larkin Company, a mail-order soap business, focusing on designing a space to foster productivity. The brick structure featured an atrium to bring in natural light, air-conditioning (it was the first office building to have it throughout), and a recreation space on the roof. It quickly became one of the most famous office buildings in the world. Eventually the Larkin Company went out of business, and after the building changed hands several times, it was ultimately left vacant, then demolished.

3. Midway Gardens, Chicago
Built as an indoor/outdoor entertainment complex in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago, Midway Gardens featured a beer garden, a dance hall, and a concert venue. Wright had creative control over the entire project, designing details as small as the napkin rings. When Prohibition came around, Midway Gardens went dry but remained open until a decline in attendance caused it to shutter in 1929, when the building was demolished.

4. Rose Pauson House, Phoenix
Rose Pauson commissioned Wright to design a winter home that she could share with her sister, and he produced a monumental stone-and-wood structure. Unfortunately, Pauson only lived in the home for a year before it burnt down—an ember caught a curtain and reduced the house to its foundation, which was left untouched for decades. Locals used the spot as a hangout, nicknaming the ruins Shiprock for their shape. Eventually the foundation was removed, but part of the chimney has been preserved and can be seen at the entrance to the Alta Vista Park Estates subdivision.

5. Hoffman Display Room, New York
The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum wasn’t Wright’s first spiral construction in New York—that honor goes to the Hoffman Display Room, which the architect designed for European car salesman Maximilian Hoffman. A rotating platform with a spiral ramp displayed vehicles in the center of the room. Hoffman sold his business to Mercedes-Benz in 1958, and the company remained in the space through 2012. Though the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy attempted to designate the showroom a landmark, demolition occurred before the process was complete.

6. Francis Apartments, Chicago
Early in his career, Wright built this middle-income apartment complex—which had one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments as well as ground-floor commercial space—for the Terre Haute Trust Company. The building was much more straightforward than the Prairie-style ones to come—perhaps this aesthetic stemmed from Wright’s relationship with architect Louis Sullivan, who served as his mentor and is famous for his “form follows function” mentality. Though the complex has been demolished, fragments of it are in the collection of the Art Institute of Chicago.

7. Oscar Steffens House, Chicago
This classic Prairie-style home was built on a ridge overlooking Lake Michigan for wealthy businessman Oscar Steffens and his wife, Katherine. The home was similar in design to the Isabel Roberts House in Oak Park, which Wright designed for his office manager and bookkeeper. The Oscar Steffens House was demolished by a real estate developer in the 1960s, but windows were salvaged from the structure—one sold for $10,000 at a Christie’s auction in 2013.

PREMIUM QUALITY OF MARBLE- STATUARIO MARBLE

PREMIUM QUALITY OF MARBLE- STATUARIO MARBLE:

ADD A TOUCH OF CLASS AND LUXURY WITH STATUARIO MARBLE FROM BHANDARI MARBLE GROUP:

The Statuario marble is a very exclusive white marble from Italy that is currently used on several high-standard and exclusive projects
One of the all-time classic marbles, Statuario is a highly dramatic white and grey marble. With vivid and artistic veining, Statuario is bound to be the focal point of any design interior it occupies. Whether for backsplashes, feature walls, cladding, bathroom vanities or flooring, Statuario marble will make a statement.

USED MOSTLY FOR HIGH END PROJECTS:

Italian Statuario marble
Derived from a Greek word that means “to sparkle, flash and gleam,” marble is undoubtedly one of the most luxurious materials in the world. And although marble is extracted from quarries all over the globe, some of the most precious varieties of marble are found in Italy. The most popular Italian marble varieties are Carrara, Calacatta and Statuario. To the untrained eye, these stones may all look like the same type of white marble. Confusion is also added because Calacatta is quarried in Carrara, Italy.

OTHER SIMILAR ITALIAN MARBLES:

While these three precious Italian marbles can sometimes resemble one another, there are slight differences that are important to note in order to be able to choose which one is right for your project.

– Carrara marble is greyish-white with less large veins and more fine, feathery veining that often appears to be linear.

– Calacatta marble is a rarer than Carrara and is more white than grey with dramatic veining that results in thick, predominate patterns. It often has brown and gold undertones.

– Statuario is the most precious marble varieties found in Italy. It has distinctive veining that can range from gold to grey.

All three types of marble will vary from slab to slab, as no two marble formations are the same. The uniqueness of each marble slab is what can result in distinguished luxury kitchens and baths. For this reason, it is often advised that when picking out white Italian marble, one should ask the stone provider to see at least three samples in order to find the color variegation and patterning that speaks.

FAQs TO GUIDE YOU ALONG:
Statuario marble is without doubt, one of the most beautiful Italian marbles available. It is the epitome of style and elegance and has been utilised as a symbol of sophistication and status in interior design for centuries. Here at BHANDARI MARBLE, we are often asked about statuario marble by architects, interior designers, luxury builders and end-users alike. In this article we will discuss the traits of statuario marble along with its most common uses in architecture.
– What is Statuario Marble:
Statuario marble is a striking and exclusive bright white natural stone, denoted by its beautiful gold and grey veining and its rich, bold patterns. It is arguably the most sought-after white stone in the marble family. Statuario marble often contains heavy grey veining throughout with unique and complex patterns. It originates from the mountain quarries of Statuario, above Carrara in Italy. Here at BHANDARI MARBLE, we are one of the leading suppliers of the rare statuario marble in India and its limited availability, coupled with its high demand, make it a real statement in any residence or commercial building.
– Best Uses for Statuario Marble in World Architecture
Given its prestige status, statuario marble is unsurprisingly commonly used as a focal point of any room. Most of our clients use it for stunning kitchen countertops and backsplashes or as large floor tiles. Luxury bathrooms are equally good uses for this natural stone, as it’s the perfect material for a vanity area or even as eye-catching floor tiles. Generally speaking, statuario marble is not a good material for external projects. It’s equally popular with our commercial clients where it can be used as part of a statement reception area or boardroom, in 5-star hotels and can often be seen in religious buildings such as churches. In ancient Italy, statuario marble was the marble of choice for carving lavish statues and was the stone used for Michelangelo’s famous ‘David’ masterpiece.
