PIONEER GROUP OF MARBLE, GRANITE AND NATURAL STONS
NATURAL STONE
Natural stone is one of the best looks for the exterior of a home. It’s beautiful, luxurious, and it last for years and years. Some of the most notable homes and buildings have been constructed out of natural stone, and they stand the test of time.
Natural stone adds an alluring element to your homes. Over the years, kitchen worktops are commonly associated with natural stones like granite or quartz. Besides being intrinsically beautiful and characteristically appealing, there are a number of factors to consider. Natural stone
BHANDARIMARBLEGROUP
MARBLE
Marble is one of the most luxurious and most beautiful natural stones known to man. It is also one of the most popular stones used in construction, for both the inside and outside of homes. Marble is commonly seen in homes as flooring, in the kitchen as counter tops, and it is also used on the exterior portion of homes as well. When used on the outside of a home, you instantly think of a classy and expensive home. Marble’s smooth and polished texture requires special care when being laid for the exterior of a home, but the beauty and durability that it provides is unsurpassable. Marble is available in a wide array of colors and patterns, from brown to pink, purple, gray, brown, and it’s even found in marbled patterns of mixed hues.
BHANDARIMARBLEGROUP
MARBLE TILES
With so many different types of marble around, it can be difficult to choose the right tile for your home. In addition to style and color, safety should also be a concern. For example, a highly polished tile would look great in the bathroom but could be a safety risk when wet. If you absolutely have your heart set on this look, you could opt for smaller tiles as the grout between each tile would add natural traction. However, we recommend that you choose a tile with a low-gloss finish for kitchens, bathrooms and anywhere where water could cause an issue.
BHANDARIMARBLEGROUP
GRANITE
Granite is one of the hardest natural stones ever found. The only stones known to be harder and more durable are diamonds and sapphires. Granite has the unmistakable flecked mineral colors with a swirled and spattered grainy appearance. It is often used on the exterior of buildings and homes due to its durability and ability to withstand time and age.
For the exterior of a home, granite can be a smart natural stone to choose if you love the look of a speckled, natural looking stone. The most popular colors of granite include, brown, pink and black.

SANDSTONE
Sandstone is a rock that develops from sand turning to a stone material hard enough to be used as a building material. The natural rock is a pleasure for builders to work with because of its ease to chisel and cut into just about any shape or size desirable.
most popular sandstone products from India include names like Tint Mint, White Mint, Mint Fossils, Modak, Agra Red, Rainbow Sandstone, Raj Green, Teak, Buff Brown, Dhoplur Chocolate, Beige, Dholpur Pink, Lalitpur Pink, Mandana Red, Jodhpur pink, Jodhpur red, Jaisalmer yellow etc.

LIMESTONE
Limestone is a great natural stone for using as an exterior stone for your home for many reasons. Limestone is a stone that will weather naturally over the years to give your home a beautifully unique look. Builders like using limestone for the exterior of homes due to its even texture and its ability to sculpt and tailor it easily to fit the look they want it to.
It is available in elegant shades of yellow, blue, brown and black. Due to its durability and longlife, limestone is generally used as building stone and for making statues. Its use as wall cladding material has also gained immense popularity.

Introducing Elegant Marbles

HOW BHANDARI MARBLE GROUP COULD MAKE IT AS THE MOST TRUSTED INDIAN EXPORTERS:

Introducing Elegant Marbles that Unveil the “Wow” Factor:
People love marble because it enhances the overall beauty of a space where it is installed. Stone engineers, masons, and stone installers prefer this stone as it is soft, easy to carve, and resistant to shattering. There are lots of form of the marble available in the market such as blocks, tiles, slabs, and stone articles. Among them, marble tiles are more popular and widely used for garnering floors, walls, countertops, vanity tops, etc.
Primarily, marble is classified on the basis of its color and the location where is quarried. A large number of marble quarries around the world produce white-hued stones. As far as marble producing countries are concerned, the United States, Italy, India, and a few European nations grab a lion share as compared to the rest of the world. Marble tiles are not engineered at a quarry; it is a marble stone processing factory that makes a rough stone fit for use and functional for installation. Let’s know more about marble tile colors, features, variety, sizes, quality, and suggestions for buyers.

Marble tiles for a timeless style, sophisticated feel, and elegant choice around!
Natural stones have been around us for ages in various forms. Be it granite, sandstone, marble, or limestone, natural stones play a vital role in numerous construction projects globally. Being a cool, rich, and eminent, tiles of marble give a vivid look to walls, floors, and other surfaces. Both rectangular and square sized tiles deliver a really exclusive appearance. In white and off-white colors, marble stones, especially contrasting veins, are known for their enticing looks.
All living rooms, bathrooms, bedrooms, commercial spaces, and kitchens get a new life when this stone is installed in a practical manner. This stone product comes to your aid when you prefer to make your interiors speak the language of perfection. Whether you cartel opposing or similar marble looks, this natural stone product imparts a “wow” factor and transforms your room completely.
There are some inherent features of performing marble tiles of custom and standard sizes that give the stone a specific look and end users lots of benefits.

Marble tiles variety, colors, sizes, and design:
Marble is a natural stone product that no man-made material can outshine at all. Although there are some engineered stone products that come with controlled quality, yet gleaming stones like marble are quite spectacular. Artificial tiles made of marble-like materials are engineered after imitating the original appearance of natural materials. By controlling quality at a certain stage, engineered stones try to match the level of marble.

The reasons behind natural or coincidence quality of marble include natural defects, colors, strength, and innate beauty. That is why this stone commits better decorating options. Nature is the biggest engineer and you can’t beat it at all. When it comes to buying marble tiles, marble suppliers from various countries give marble tile buyers an edge in terms of quality, quantity, cost, and perfection. Following are some popular colors and varieties of tile products made of marble:
Black marble – Mercury black, carbon black, and black marine marble
Brown marble – Fantasy brown marble
Green marble – Spider green, plain green, and forest green marble
Pink marble – Pink onyx and pink marble
Veining marble – Rainforest green, golden, and brown marble
White marble – Bruno white, Albeta white, Markrana white, and white onyx marble.

Features of softness, feel, veins, texture, lines, defects, and backdrop designs simply boost the overall aesthetics of the stone surface. Presence of any of these qualities over the surface makes design of marble tiles superb. As far as the availability of the stone sizes is concerned, global buyers can expect the following sizes. These include:

Marble quality, grades, and finishes for tiles!
What is the quality of a marble product? There are various findings that focus on certain geological processes, quarrying processes, finishing processes, or stone cutting pattern to determine the overall quality factors. Visible and distinct veins, occurred due to the presence of natural crystals, running over the surface of the stone gives a new dimension to the quality when it is reflected by proper finish and polishing. In marble stone, natural defects or impurities are seen as a plus point. When a stone wears sand, silt, clay, and iron oxides, it emerges as a stone with gorgeous impurities.

Interestingly, natural impurities find inside the stone indicate to the coincidence quality not controlled quality. Marble tile exporters cater to needs of all sorts of marble buyers keeping the factors of quality in mind. It is also known that quality differs from buyer to buyer. Plainly speaking, there is no prefixed grading system that buyers can consider to assess the quality of the stone of their choice. Primarily, there are three grade types related to the factor of quality. These include:
• Exotic or high-end quality labels: It is earmarked with one-of-a-kind variations, patterns, and hues.
• Low-grade marble quality: It is commercial or second choice stone due to the presence of excessive soft minerals in the stone.
• Mid-grade marble quality: It is concerned with the presence of clear colors and attractive patterns with lower uniqueness.

There are lots of marble tile finishes available around, yet below-mentioned are popular finishes one can expect from natural stone manufacturers in all parts of the world. These include:
• Available Marble Finishes: Polished, lepatora, honed, sandblasted, antique (sandblasted + brushed), bush-hammered, bush-hammered + brushed, and leather finish.
• Edge Finish: Machine cut edges

Be a marble tile expert and buy only real marble not fake one!

All marble products are not the same, so are their inherent features. If you are not an expert, you will certainly find it hard to differentiate. Getting timely help from experts can make things in your favor. If not, you need to know what is right or wrong. Sometimes, engineered tiles look more beautiful than natural tiles. It is always a big step to make a decision to choose the real one and avoid fake one. It will be great if you can know the real aspects of man-made or natural marble product. Just stick to these features that can take you in the right direction and know if your choice stone product is fake or real.
• Stone color and pattern analysis by checking veins, colors, and texture smeared on the surface of the stone. If the stone misses these natural imperfections, it means it is a fake marble product.
• The water test application: If the stone you are buying doesn’t absorb water, it means it is an engineered stone made of epoxy resins. On the other hand, marble tiles absorb water as it is porous.
• Tapping through the stone: Natural stone product simply induces a ringing like sound when it is tapped on the back. On the other hand, a fake stone offers no sound as it is made of resin and crystals.
• Know marble price: Basically, marble price fluctuates as per the higher and lower quality options. If you are getting stone for a lower price than its actual range, it is probable that the seller is cheating you with a fake product.
• A careful look at the stone joints: Some tiles are processed by a machine and others by human beings. This difference can induce a shift in the seam pattern.

Marble tiles price is a big variable:
Marble tile prices are varying as per destination, quality, processing, and economic factors. All marble stones are not the same, so are their relative prices. The price of the stone also goes up due to lower supply and higher demand in the competitive market. The price of rare marble tile colors (white and black from India) is generally high. The price of the stone also varies as per the quality and grading of the stone (high, medium, and lower). In addition, marble products processed and mined in an exotic location are found costlier than the stones that are processed in your own country. Without a doubt, a stone that is rare and hard to extract adds more burden to your pocket. In case of monopoly, marble producer may extort more bucks from you. Involvement of lots of agents in the stone buying and selling process can also inflate the overall price of the marble tiles. Cost of marble substitutes and finished products also matters the most. The distance between quarry and factory and ports also gives a price variation.

MARBLE, STONE & GRANITE IN INDIA

MARBLE, STONE & GRANITE IN INDIA
BHANDARIMARBLEGROUP
India possesses a wide spectrum of dimensional stones that include granite, marble, sandstone, limestone, slate, and quartzite, in various parts of the country.
BhandariMarbleGroup
The Indian stone industry has evolved into the production and manufacturing of blocks, flooring slabs, structural slabs, monuments, tomb stones, sculptures, cobbles, pebbles and landscape garden stones.
India’s history, dating back to 3200 BC has been influenced considerably by the disposition, development and use of stones and other construction materials. Dimension stones have also left deep imprints on the architectural heritage of the country. Innumerable temples, forts and palaces of Ancient Indian Civilization have been carved out of locally available stones. The Taj Mahal at Agra was constructed from Indian marble. Some of the rock-cut structures include Khajuraho Temple, Elephanta Caves, and Konark Temple. Besides, all major archeological excavations have revealed exquisitely carved statuettes and carvings in stone. Ancient Buddhist monuments like the Sanchi Stupa of 3rd century BC have also been carved out of stone.
This tradition of Stone Architecture has continued to the present era, with most of the important modern buildings in India like the Presidential House, Parliament House, and Supreme Court made from high quality sandstone of Rajasthan. The Baha’i House of Worship of New Delhi stands testimony to the relevance of marble in modern Indian architecture.
Stones are still the mainstays of civil construction in India, with stones being used extensively in public buildings, hotels, and temples. It is increasingly being used in homes, with the use of stones now penetrating amongst the growing middle class of India.
The success of commercial stone industry solely depends upon defects in rock stone. Natural defects in ornamental commercial rock deposits adversely affect the quality of rock deposit. Detection of natural defects in decorative and dimensional stone industry play vital role in the quality assessment.
BHANDARI MARBLE GROUP
India is pioneer in the exploration, mining of commercial rock deposits and in establishing a firm base for stone industry. India, with an estimated resource of about 1,690 million cu m, comprising over 160 shades of Dimension Stone Granites DSG, accounts for about 205 of the world resources. Of the 300 varieties being traded in the world market, nearly half of them are from India. Commercially viable granite and other rock deposits are reported from Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, and others.
Marble was used for building tombs, temples and palaces. For a time it was considered as Royal Stone. It is, however, now used in hotels and homes too. There are many varieties.

MARBLE- COMPOSITION AND ADVANTAGES:

Marble is a metamorphic stone, formed under intense heat and pressure that ultimately transforms the rock composition. It is a soft rock, with a porous nature. For flooring purposes, it is mostly used in the living rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms. Suitable for almost any space of your house that you wish must be eye-pleasing and well-maintained; they are also a really good choice for living rooms and foyers. Marbles are an elegant preference to go for and score high on aesthetics. Italian marbles are available in several varieties like Dyna, Baltic Brown, Blue Pearl, Jet Black, English Talk, Italian Beige, Imperial Gold and so on.

• Durable and scratch resistant
• Can last for ages.
• The design patterns available are exquisite and are one of the most elegant flooring styles.
• Most of the Italian marble slabs are resin impregnated which provides a more hygienic surface than other materials.
• Easy to clean
• Provides a good indoor air quality as it does not catch allergens.
• Have the advantage of a wide range of colours

SOME OTHER TYPES OF MARBLE AND STONE FLOORING THAT YOU CAN CHOOSE FROM:

Limestone:
Limestone is a sedimentary rock that consists of mostly organic material, such as the skeletons and shells of marine creatures. Over millions of years, it solidifies into solid rock.
Travertine:
Travertine is formed by geysers when the extremely hot underground water dissolves the underlying limestone and carries it upwards with the geyser water. When the water falls to the ground, it re-hardens into stone. The new stone is full of gas bubbles, giving Travertine its characteristic appearance. As travertine is made from water, it is great in a wet environment. However, any holes need to be filled. You should care for it in the same as any other natural stone.
Slate floor tiles:
Rustic, grey-black slate wall and floor tiles are an affordable metamorphic stone composed of silt ore, shale, and volcanic ash, compressed over millions of years. These tiles have durable properties and characteristic colours which give a tactile surface whilst still being extremely hard-wearing. Glossy finishes must be polished regularly, and tumbled or honed slate must be sealed regularly.

Natural stone for your architectural projects
Natural stone is widely used in construction, external design, indoor wall covering and even to create decorative objects. Marble, onyx and granite products are ecological, resistant to low temperatures and long lasting. These original materials create a unique, luxury atmosphere at home, at the work place or in recreational areas.

WHY CHOOSE THE EXPERIENCED TEAM AT BHANDARI MARBLE GROUP?
Natural stone flooring offers you virtually endless types, styles and price points.
But all that variety and all those decisions can be quite intimidating to the unknown shopper.
With natural stone, knowledge really pays off. And knowledge today, before you buy, can be invaluable.
It can help you decide which type of natural stone best fits with your home and its activities, which size tile complements your room size and much more.

YOU WON’T SEE YOUR FLOOR AT THE NEIGHBORS.
The beauty of natural stone is that no two pieces are ever the same.
Each piece has its own natural characteristics such as color, veining and markings, as well as hardness and porosity. Your floor is truly unique and completely individual. Exclusive.
A natural stone tile floor begins with giant pieces of stone that are mined from the earth and transported to factories where they are cut into thin slabs.
Veining and crystallization may be abundant in one, yet non-existent in another.
Appearance may vary from tile to tile, but that only adds to the elegance, charm and magic of natural stone.

SEALING IS RECOMMENDED.
It is important to note that sealing of natural stone is highly recommended, and that it be performed by a seasoned professional.
Sealing your natural stone flooring makes it less porous, more stain resistant, and protects the stone’s original beauty.
There are different types of sealer depending on your type of stone. We recommend consulting with us about sealing your flooring.

WHAT ARE DIFFERENT TYPES OF STONE FINISHES?

Polished
Grinding, sanding, and buffing produces a high gloss, mirror-like surface. Polishing can be done only on crystallized stones. A polished finish doesn’t affect the porosity of the stone. A polished finish is quite popular as it enhances the color and markings of the material. A stone with a polished finish is very smooth and reflective. This type of finish is used in reception areas, where marble, granite and some harder limestones are laid. The most popular uses of polished stone are in; interior and exterior wall cladding, Interior and exterior paving, Fireplace facing and hearth, Lavatory tops, Residential & Commercial counter tops, Table Tops etc.

Honed
Grinding and sanding produces a smooth, yet not glossy finish. This is best for low maintenance, high traffic applications. Honed finishes unlike polished finishes are not reflective. The honed finish is a satin smooth surface with little light reflection. This finish is often used on walking surfaces and other areas where heavy traffic would wear off a polished finish. Honed finishes are used in interior wall covering. It can also used on the exterior in warm environments, table tops, very light duty residential flooring, etc.

Flamed
A flamed finish is one of the most popular finishes for external use where slip resistance is a concern. It is produced by applying a high-temperature flame to the surface of the stone which creates thermal shock and causes the inherent crystals to fracture, resulting in deeply textured surface ideal for external surfaces. This finish is mainly used on granites, and will hide surface imperfections and tone variations.

Sandblasted
This is a rough, but tidy look created by applying a high pressure blast of sand to the stone’s surface. A sandblasted finish creates a finely textured surface ideal for use in traffic-ways. Applying a high-pressure jet of water mixed with sand, this treatment softens the color and characteristics of the original stone.

Leather Finish
Available only in some varieties of marble & granite, this finish gives the stone a suede look and feel. This texture is smooth and slip-resistant.

Antiqued
This stone is tumbled with sand, pebbles etc to create a weathered, aged finish. An antique finish gives stone an aged appearance by replicating use and wear. Tumbling & at times acid wash is applied to surface of the stone which etches the surface of the stone. This generally dulls the color of the stone. The surface is then be brushed with mechanical wire bush to make the stone smooth and slightly restore the color.

7 Demolished Frank Lloyd Wright Buildings

7 Demolished Frank Lloyd Wright Buildings We Wish Were Still Standing
After a last-ditch preservation effort failed in January, a 1958-designed Frank Lloyd Wright building in Whitefish, Montana, became the most recent work by the architect to be demolished—though it was by no means the first. Of the hundreds, if not thousands, of building ideas conjured by Wright over the course of his life, 511 were actually built and only 432 remain standing today. Over the last century, 79 have been destroyed, some by human intent and others by accident. Here, we take a look at seven of the architect’s buildings that are no longer standing today.

1. Imperial Hotel, Tokyo
The iconic Japanese hotel has seen three iterations over its lifetime: a wooden structure designed in a Western style by Yuzuru Watanabe in 1880; Frank Lloyd Wright’s version, which lasted from the 1920s to the 1960s; and the current high-rise. Wright’s building famously survived the 1923 Great Kanto Earthquake, which decimated most of Tokyo. But after several decades, the aging hotel began sinking into the mud beneath it, and it was controversially demolished. The central lobby and reflecting pool were preserved and can be found at the Meiji-mura museum in Inuyama, Japan.

2. Larkin Company Administration Building, Buffalo, New York
Though Wright is perhaps more famous for his residential projects, he also worked on commercial sites. He created the main office building for the Larkin Company, a mail-order soap business, focusing on designing a space to foster productivity. The brick structure featured an atrium to bring in natural light, air-conditioning (it was the first office building to have it throughout), and a recreation space on the roof. It quickly became one of the most famous office buildings in the world. Eventually the Larkin Company went out of business, and after the building changed hands several times, it was ultimately left vacant, then demolished.

3. Midway Gardens, Chicago
Built as an indoor/outdoor entertainment complex in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago, Midway Gardens featured a beer garden, a dance hall, and a concert venue. Wright had creative control over the entire project, designing details as small as the napkin rings. When Prohibition came around, Midway Gardens went dry but remained open until a decline in attendance caused it to shutter in 1929, when the building was demolished.

4. Rose Pauson House, Phoenix
Rose Pauson commissioned Wright to design a winter home that she could share with her sister, and he produced a monumental stone-and-wood structure. Unfortunately, Pauson only lived in the home for a year before it burnt down—an ember caught a curtain and reduced the house to its foundation, which was left untouched for decades. Locals used the spot as a hangout, nicknaming the ruins Shiprock for their shape. Eventually the foundation was removed, but part of the chimney has been preserved and can be seen at the entrance to the Alta Vista Park Estates subdivision.

5. Hoffman Display Room, New York
The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum wasn’t Wright’s first spiral construction in New York—that honor goes to the Hoffman Display Room, which the architect designed for European car salesman Maximilian Hoffman. A rotating platform with a spiral ramp displayed vehicles in the center of the room. Hoffman sold his business to Mercedes-Benz in 1958, and the company remained in the space through 2012. Though the Frank Lloyd Wright Building Conservancy attempted to designate the showroom a landmark, demolition occurred before the process was complete.

6. Francis Apartments, Chicago
Early in his career, Wright built this middle-income apartment complex—which had one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments as well as ground-floor commercial space—for the Terre Haute Trust Company. The building was much more straightforward than the Prairie-style ones to come—perhaps this aesthetic stemmed from Wright’s relationship with architect Louis Sullivan, who served as his mentor and is famous for his “form follows function” mentality. Though the complex has been demolished, fragments of it are in the collection of the Art Institute of Chicago.

7. Oscar Steffens House, Chicago
This classic Prairie-style home was built on a ridge overlooking Lake Michigan for wealthy businessman Oscar Steffens and his wife, Katherine. The home was similar in design to the Isabel Roberts House in Oak Park, which Wright designed for his office manager and bookkeeper. The Oscar Steffens House was demolished by a real estate developer in the 1960s, but windows were salvaged from the structure—one sold for $10,000 at a Christie’s auction in 2013.
